Cilento National Park villa with pool rental – Set in the splendid Cilento National Park, Palme del Cilento is a pretty, newly built family villa with pool a short walk from the local village shops and restaurants and only 1 mile from the beach.
Simply and comfortably furnished, this appealing property has an airy feel and is equipped with all comforts to make your holiday a pleasant and relaxing experience. The accommodation is arranged over the ground floor which makes it particularly comfortable for families with young children who will appreciate the advantage of open plan living, the spacious covered terrace and the flat lawned garden surrounding the pool. Why not start the morning the Italian way, with cappuccino and croissants on the terrace, enjoying the surrounding greenery and the hilly backdrop of the Cilento National Park, a UNESCO world heritage site.
Your days might start with a stroll to the bakery or to the other shops in the local village, followed by a trip to the nearby sandy beaches at Ogliastro Marino, Acciaroli, Punta Licosa or Punta Tresino: there are several Blue Flag beaches to choose from in this area. There are also plenty of pretty places to visit, such as Acciaroli, an authentic fishing village which still preserves much of its original charm, and Castellabate and Agropoli which boast attractive medieval old towns.
Walking along the coastal path is a lovely way to appreciate the unspoilt beauty of this protected area of Southern Campania. Further afield you can reach some popular destinations such as Vietri sul Mare and the Amalfi coast, or the impressive Ancient Greek archaeological sites of Paestum and Velia, all ideal for days out.
“This independent and newly built holiday house has a large garden and private pool and has been furnished with care. The location is ideal whether you are looking for a relaxing summer holiday or to explore the attractive, protected Cilento region, much of which is a national park and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The nearby village of Castellabate was used as the setting of the film "Benvenuti al Sud" (Welcome to the South). A trip idea: the two major archaeological sites of Paestum and Velia are both about 19 miles away (in opposite directions): this part of Italy once formed part of Ancient Greece. You can also visit the Amalfi coast just west of Salerno: Vietri sul Mare is famous for its exquisite ceramics and would make a feasible and memorable day trip.”

Villa was great with a lovely quiet position
Villa was great with a lovely quiet position and the owner was very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the particularly large deep pool too.
We would definitely consider going back at some point.
We have enjoyed many holidays in various parts of Italy but this was our first visit to Campania - and we’re sure that it won’t be our last. The Cilento region provides a delightfully unspoiled, welcoming, friendly Italian experience which one is able to share with the Italians themselves.
We have a demanding check list which discounted the majority of properties on offer elsewhere so were delighted when, on a cold February day, we came across Quality Villas’ website introduction to this villa. In July this year, it surpassed its description.
A few days before departing, we received a phone call from The QV area manager to check that we had everything that we needed and to assure us that he was available if we required assistance.
The property’s owner also called us and confirmed that he would meet us at a nearby bar to take us to the villa...........the villa has Wifi, so WhatsApp is useful to keep in touch with him.
The reality is that the bar is a delight in its own right, serving a huge selection of home-made pastries and savoury snacks, ice cream, coffee, wines, beers...........eat in or take away.............oh – and it has a cash machine, too. Your first visit will not be your last – guaranteed.
As arranged, the owner met us at the bar and took us directly to the villa which is, as promised, a completely private, gated property. The interior is as described, but no brochure can do justice to the exterior. We were bowled over by the enormous covered terrace with BBQ, sofas and easy chairs, secluded garden with a number of olive and fruit trees and great pool – about the largest private pool that we have ever had. A little bonus is the awning over the driveway that kept the sun off the car.
The delightful owner is a mine of information and we soon had our own map of the area with the names of several nearby recommended restaurants and price guides to start us off, beaches to visit and places of interest. Ask him about the restaurant on the Castellabate mountaintop run by one of his friends. For dinner on our first night we went to Carmine, overlooking their own beach, and went back several times thereafter – try the prawns dusted with parmesan and baked, wrapped in lemon leaves. This is not the best region for those who like to dine out on meat but is great if you’re into seafood, fish, pizzas or caprese, given that Campania is the home of true mozzarella.
The location of the villa makes for relaxed living, with supermarkets, fresh vegetable and fruit stalls, a pharmacy and restaurants, all close by, with plenty more shopping experiences in San Marco and Santa Maria.
Lovely Villa - fantastic location
We arrived in the middle of the night having been delayed, but Giuseppe was great, warm friendly and relaxed - even if he was fed up that we had kept him up way into the early hours he didn't show it one bit. The villa was great. Simply furnished but everything we needed and wanted was there. There was a problem with one of the showers which when I reported it was dealt with straight away and without any hassle. Supermarket 5 mins away in the car, some lovely little restaurants easily accessible too. Some great beaches - if you can drag yourself away from the pool - which is huge! An hour and a half's drive south of Naples at best this is a bit off the beaten track, but that is just what we were looking for, quiet, remote with sites to see if we wanted. Had a great 2 weeks. Turned up stressed and uptight, left having forgotten the date! Perfect.
