Alberobello family trullo with pool Puglia – a traditional stone trullo with conical tiled roof topped by a distinctive ‘pinnacolo’, this appealing holiday home has a large pool surrounded by olive trees and is just a two-minute drive from restaurants and shops in the town centre. Trullo Pinnacolo has been beautifully refurbished to create a simple but well-equipped and relaxing holiday property ideal for families. Undoubtedly the most famous town in the attractive Itria Valley and understandably popular with tourists, Alberobello is famous for its trulli. Unique to the Puglia region, there are over 1,400 of these distinctive cone-shaped dwellings here. The main attraction is the picturesque Monti quarter, which comprises about a thousand trulli, but you might prefer the quieter Aja Piccola district where life goes on around you in a more everyday manner. Alberobello itself is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and there is much to recommend the whole area. Based at Trullo Pinnacolo you will be within easy driving distance of several of Puglia’s most charming towns – including Locorotondo, considered one of the "Borghi piu belli d'Italia" (most beautiful towns in Italy); Martina Franca with its picturesque old quarter; Cisternino, also listed as one of the “Borghi piu belli” – there is a weekly market here on Mondays; and Ostuni, the stunning "white city". And don’t forget that Puglia boasts the longest stretch of coastline on the Italian mainland: the beautiful white sandy beaches of the Adriatic coast are easily reachable from this characterful holiday home. If you are holidaying in Puglia, staying in a trullo is surely the icing on the cake!

“ Alberobello is the "trulli" town, particularly famous for these unusual buildings which are characteristic of Puglia. You will eat well here: the culinary tradition is one of a simple cuisine (cucina povera) that has been handed down over the centuries using the freshest, top quality local ingredients. The best restaurants in the area are listed in the housebook of course, but do make sure you eat at the restaurant/pizzeria Gli Ulivi, which I can certainly recommend.  Less widely known is that Alberobello is a proud holder of the "Orange Flag", which is awarded by the Italian Touring Club to inland locations that offer an excellent all-round experience for tourists. Families will enjoy a trip to the zoo safari at Fasano, and the Grotte di Castellana cave complex  with its impressive stalactites and stalagmites is another place in the local area that is well worth visiting. ”
