Apulia exclusive seafront villa with pool – Ideally located a few steps away from a rocky shore on the Adriatic sea, just a short walk from Castro Marina’s town centre, Zaffiro Blu is an impressive Salento holiday villa with private pool, affording unrivalled sea views; an ideal setting in which to unwind and enjoy Apulia's relaxing seaside life. Bright blue shutters create a striking contrast with the typically Mediterranean whitewashed exterior of this substantial villa built in the Seventies. Features include arched windows and generous terraces on different levels for those all-important sea views, as well as rare advantage of direct access to the rocky seashore.
Picture yourself enjoying your holiday meals al-fresco under the gazebo or the covered terrace, taking an invigorating swim in the pool or simply relaxing as you bask in the sunshine and soak up the surrounding beauty. The paved Mediterranean garden surrounding this villa is small, yet lovingly tended and planted with palm trees, colourful oleanders, agaves and flower beds. The location of this villa is just perfect; within a mile or so you have Castro Marina, which is a lively seaside resort with a wealth of shops, restaurants, cafes and a picturesque old town set on the hilltop above the marina.
Just a few minutes’ drive from Zaffiro Blu is also Puglia’s most famous sea cave; so called for its ragged stalactites and stalagmites, Grotta Zinzulusa offers visitors a mesmerizing spectacle of shimmering lights and colours among the rock pools where you can even swim! Dramatic cliffs, hidden coves and sandy beaches are a typical sight along this rugged stretch of Adriatic coast. Further north, within half-an-hour's drive along the scenic coastal route is Otranto, a charming historic port town. If you happen to visit during the summer months, you will enjoy the festive lights, the gastronomic delicacies and the lively atmosphere so typical of Salento.

“ Castro is a small but gorgeous seaside town divided into two parts: there is a lower town by the sea and the port called Castro Marina and an old, historic town called Castro Alta. One of Salento's most famed attractions is Grotta Zinzulusa, reachable both by sea, with a boat service departing from Castro Port or by car, following the scenic route towards Santa Cesarea Terme. Its stalactites and stalagmites will impress children and adults alike. I would also reccommend a visit to one of the largest and oldest botanical gardens in Europe, called la Cutura. Close to Castro are also the splendid towns of Otranto and Santa Maria di Leuca. ”
