Luxury Salento villa with overspill pool - This is an exquisitely renovated luxury villa with overspill pool in Southern Italy enjoying 360-degree views over extensive olive groves and the spectacular bay of Gallipoli, ideally situated within 3 miles of picturesque Gallipoli and just one mile of the fine sandy beaches of the Ionian coastline.
A thorough renovation has incorporated many of the original features from the old convent, such as high vaulted ceilings, the tower, arched doorways and the inner courtyard, into a luxury contemporary house offering versatile accommodation distributed between a main villa and two new, independent annexes. Furnished in a minimalist style, Idomenea exudes elegance throughout. Guests wishing to explore the rolling hills of Val d'Itria, otherwise known as 'Trulli land', can choose to spend a few extra days in an original Trullo in Martina Franca from the same owners (i.e. a typical Apulian house with conical roof).
Salento boasts some of Italy's finest sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. Punta della Suina and Lido Pizzo are just within one mile of this villa and feature an incredibly beautiful and unspoilt coastline dotted with rocky outcrops, forested sand dunes, secluded coves and striking sunsets. Many remarkable towns steeped in history still retain much of their original charm, such as Gallipoli, Santa Maria di Leuca, Otranto and Lecce. Whether you like visiting Medieval castles, baroque cathedrals, ancient olive farms or just enjoy the unrivalled sea views, the gastronomic delicacies and the relaxed Italian lifestyle, your holiday in Puglia will be an unforgettable experience.

“ Gallipoli is a wonderful town whose walled old quarter boasts a rich artistic heritage, typical shops, excellent restaurants, narrow paved lanes and an imposing baroque cathedral. The new part has a lively day and nightlife with a large marina harbouring many luxury yachts as well as fishing boats. To savour the local specialities of the region I would suggest you try La Puritate, L'Antico Frantoio, Blue Salento, Il Bastione or Mare Chiaro, all equally good. ”
