Luxury private villa in Sicily - Casa Licata is located on the Southern coast of Sicily, just 40 minutes from the famous Valle dei Templi at Agrigento and only six miles away from the nearest beach, within a private estate amongst a picturesque grove of olive trees.
The villa exudes typical Sicilian charm with its beamed ceilings and rustic style furniture. The living room and kitchen lead onto a lovely terrace, ideal for dining al-fresco or having a barbecue whilst enjoying the views over the surrounding countryside; olive oil produced on the estate is available to add local flavour to your home cooked meals. A private pool and air conditioning provide a cooling escape from the Sicilian mid-day sun.
The nearby harbour town of Licata, once a major trading crossroads with origins dating back to the Palaeolithic era, now takes a more modest role, with its focus on fishing. There are several museums here with artefacts from the Romano-Greek era, as well as churches and some Liberty-style architecture. And do visit the town of Piazza Armerina for its archeological excavations (especially the famous, splendid Roman mosaics of Villa del Casale) - at just over an hour's drive it would make an excellent day out.
“Casa Licata would make a great base for exploring much of what Sicily has to offer. The villa itself offers peace and quiet and lovely views of the surrounding countryside: agriculture is very important in this area and you will see a lot of citrus groves. Close to the little town of Licata are long stretches of beach where the white sand contrasts beautifully with the crystal-clear sea. Licata is a typical Sicilian town, with narrow cobbled streets and plenty of restaurants (definitely try La Madia, and for pizzas, Pizzeria Marianello) and shops. Agrigento, one of the most important archaeological sites in Europe, is just a short drive away and would make a wonderful day trip from this villa, as would Piazza Armerina.”

I stayed in Casa Licata with my wife and 4 friends late May 14. The Villa is amazing. Much better than the photos show! The grounds are beautiful and the surrounding scenery picturesque. The pool is huge. Although there were 6 of us we could not believe the whole place was just for us! The house is wonderful. The villa as a whole is of the standard of a 5 star hotel.
The owner was great. Her olive oil is the best we ever had!
We will go back without any doubt!
The villa was superb, very secure and clean. The owner was very helpful as was the rep. Thoroughly recommend this villa!
