Dramatically perched on a high cliff facing the small island of Capo Passero, on the Southernmost tip of Sicily, Vela Bianca is a stylish, contemporary villa surrounded by an unspoilt, rocky landscape shaped by the endless erosion of the marine environment. Shops and restaurants are just a short walk away and Noto, Modica, Ragusa and Siracusa are within half-an-hour’s drive and so are many enchanting sandy beaches and coves. The sleek, minimalist design of the interior perfectly reflects this dramatic rocky landscape, dominated by the Mediterranean sea. The contrast between the crisp, white finish of the walls and the deep blue sea couldn’t be more striking.
Sunlight floods through large windows, specifically designed to further enhance this stunning location, whilst several oil painted mood canvasses together with bright soft furnishing add vibrancy and warmth. High quality furniture and bespoke equipment have been meticulously selected with the utmost attention to detail to suit sophisticated, effortless modern living. This unique scenery will frame every moment of your holiday; as you wake up in the morning, enjoy a lazy breakfast under the terrace, sunbathe on your own private balcony or prepare delicious meals in your bespoke kitchen, using fresh local produce. You must taste the Pachino tomatoes, an absolute speciality from the nearby town of Pachino.
Sicily’s sweet wines are the perfect accompaniment to the local ricotta-based desserts such as cassata and cannoli. As you leave your exclusive villa, the quaint fishing village of Portopalo is on your doorstep, offering a small selection of shops and good seafood restaurants. Further afield is Syracuse, with its magnificent Greek and Roman ruins and the spendid baroque towns of Ragusa Ibla, Noto, Modica and Scicli. Along this stretch of coast are also some of the most beautiful sandy beaches in Sicily, encompassing Calamosche, in the Vindicari Nature Reserve, Punta Secca, Isola delle Correnti and San Lorenzo in Marzanemi.

“ This area of Southern Sicily was chosen as a film-setting for the popular Inspector Montalbano TV series from the famous novels of Andrea Camilleri. A tour of the sites featured in the popular episides can be booked in advanced. Another very good reason to come to southern Sicily is the presence of some of the most beautiful beaches and seaside resorts in the island. You will find them along the stretch of coast spanning eastwards, from Capo Passero to Punta Secca, and westwards along the Gulf of Noto. Being Vela Bianca situated on the headland half-way through the coast you will be spoilt for choice! ”
