Agadir

An hour and half’s drive south of Agadir is Aglou Plage with its beach cafes, restaurants and small harbour. Freshly caught fish is available daily from the harbour - some local fisherman will call at the local Agadir and Aglou-Plage villas offering their freshly caught catch - be prepared to haggle! Visit the the co-operative in Aglou Plage where all the local caught fish is taken to be sold onto fishmongers and to the public. The local town of Tiznit, with its silver souk, and medina is worth a visit. Show interest and you will be given mint tea and a grand tour of the small workshops. The market in the medina is mainly used by local Moroccans and it’s an experience to see. You feel as though you have been transported back in time with old fashioned weighing scales and a general “ancient” atmosphere. Be prepared to see camel’s feet on the butchers counters! The small town of Mirleft is about 20 minutes drive from Aglou Plage, along the coast road. This town has a laid back atmosphere with a couple of good restaurants plus a very good, weekly Berber market. Agadir is Southern Morocco's most visited city for its parks souks, sandy beaches, Medina - and 300 days of sunshine! It's is not your typical Moroccan city but a modern, busy and dynamic town with beach front bars, promenades and long sandy beaches. You can spend the day on the long sandy beach, enjoying every type of water sport. Morocco has almost every kind of fishing and Agadir and Aglou Plage is no exception. Boat trips can be arranged for a day out from our Moroccan villas on the Atlantic coast where there are sea bream, tuna, swordfish, marlin and barracuda. Additionally, there are gentle and fast-flowing inland rivers, wadis and beautiful lakes where anglers can land pike, perch, roach, trout, carp and eels.
