Marrakesh gardens villa – this delightful and spacious villa in the heart of Marrakech offers a heated pool, air conditioning throughout and a rooftop open-air living room, which is perfect for cocktails before an evening out or simply for relaxing at any time. Its position next to the beautiful Majorelle Gardens makes this villa an excellent choice if you want to be close to the famous sights and make the most of the medina (the old town) from a private, central base. The staff will ensure you are well looked after during your stay - breakfast is provided every day and other meals can be catered by arrangement. Light and airy rooms with contemporary furnishings and marble bathrooms complete the picture. Marrakech is known as the Red City, or Al Hamra, for the colour of its buildings. The atmosphere is definitely exotic, with snake charmers and Henna painters as well as many other sights at the lively market held in the celebrated Jemaa al Fna square. Towering over the scene is the stately Koutoubia minaret. The fascinating, labrynthine medina, colourful bazaars, the aromas of Moroccan delicacies … these are the experiences you can expect to enjoy on a holiday in this wonderful city. During your holiday do make sure you try some of the excellent Moroccan tagines, the local couscous, sweet pastries and, of course, mint tea. Served throughout the day it is considered the drink of hospitality and traditionally prepared and poured by the head of the family. It occupies a very important place in Moroccan culture and has become an art form in its own right.

“One special – and most unusual - attraction of staying at Villa des Lanternes is its location in an oasis near the famous and lively Medina. You can walk (about fifteen minutes) or take an easy horse-drawn carriage ride from the Gardens next door to the Jemaa el Fna square. This is a developed area of Marrakech but the villa is not overlooked and it is not noisy. It would make an absolutely ideal base for couples or for a family with older children.”
